Breakout Watch: Bears WR Marquess Wilson

1446347With Brandon Marshall sidelined for the remainder of the 2014 season, young WR Marquess Wilson has an excellent opportunity to flourish in an expanded role.

As if the Bears’ season wasn’t already circling the drain, the franchise was dealt a major blow with the loss of Brandon Marshall for the remainder of the year. Chicago’s No. 1 WR took a knee to the back in the team’s 13-point loss to the Cowboys last Thursday night. Two broken ribs and a collapsed lung later, the stud receiver will be spending the rest of 2014 on the injured reserve. Replacing Marshall in the Bears’ starting lineup is second-year man Marquess Wilson.

Selected in the seventh round of the 2013 draft, the Washington State product boasts great size and length but has had issues with drops. At 6-foot-4 and 184 pounds, he’s a long and lean target for the strong-armed Jay Cutler…
