Week 9: Staying Cool with Cotchery
Digging deep is always a key component to dominating in fantasy football. When six teams are on a bye, and the list of available players is shorter than Muggsy Bogues, it’s downright essential. In fact, back in Week 4, under-the-radar receivers like Louis Murphy and Dwayne Bowe put up legit WR3 and flex numbers.
Also part of that group was the Panthers’ Jerricho Cotchery. While he only produced 80 yards on five catches, those numbers were enough to land him amongst the top 35 fantasy WRs. While I never encourage owners to shoot for mediocrity (quite the contrary, in fact), I do think working the waiver wire judiciously is a good idea when so many key players are unusable.
