Week 9: Fantasy Stock Watch
Every week, I monitor the so-called Fantasy Stock Market. As players rise and fall, you need to sometimes buy low or sell high. Those recommendations can be found here! Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones isn’t playing up to his usual standard, which makes him a fantastic buy-low candidate as we approach the Fantasy postseason.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. The fifth most drafted WR in fantasy football, Jones hasn’t seen the end zone since Week 3, which is coincidentally the last time Atlanta won a game. The past two weeks have been tough on Julio owners as the Falcons’ WR1 has put up single digit fantasy numbers and fallen outside of the top forty fantasy players at the position. To be fair, those games were opposite two of the stingiest defenses in the league. Despite the down weeks, Jones remains Matt Ryan’s most consistent and productive weapon in the passing game. The Week 9 bye could not come at a better time as this unit is need of a break and some time to regroup. Upon returning they’ll see Tampa Bay and then Carolina, two of the friendliest match-ups for fantasy receivers. One of the most talented speed/size receivers in the league, Jones is primed for a late season comeback. Buy him now before this “slump” becomes an afterthought.
