Week 9: Eating Crow and Told Ya So

1414522I have no issues with being held in check. You win some and you lose some. You’re not always going to be right and that’s okay. Here, I recap my weekly picks and how they played out. Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (pictured on the left) played exceedingly well in Week 9.

TOLD YA SO

Jeremy Hill
Stomping his way to the best game of his young career, Hill finished the day as the number one fantasy running back. With Gio Bernard sidelined, the rookie RB carried the rock twenty four times for over 150 yards and two glorious touchdowns. Still available in just over 15 percent of MFL leagues, Hill is a must-own back with must-start appeal when Bernard is unavailable. Proving his mettle to offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, Hill is likely to see a larger share of the workload from here on out. If Bernard is still nursing the hip pointer that caused him to miss Week 9 come this Thursday night, fire Hill up against a Bengals pass defense that gave up 121 rushing yards to Bobby Rainey this past Sunday. On a short week, it’s likely that Hill will put up RB1 numbers once again.

Mychael Rivera
I may have missed on the above two tight ends, but man did I make up for it with Rivera! The Raiders’ second year TE had the first TWO-touchdown game of his career on Sunday afternoon at Seattle. Leading the team in targets and receptions, Rivera has become increasingly involved in Oakland’s passing game over the last two weeks. WRs Andre Holmes and James Jones are still ahead of him in terms of targets and production, but No. 81 appears to be building a nice rapport with his rookie quarterback. Perhaps worth a speculative stash in dynasty leagues, Rivera’s schedule moving forward…
