Week 11: Running Back Round Up
Every week, I examine the most turbulent backfields to determine whether a backup is due for a bigger role and how any possible changes will affect Fantasy relevant stars. Here are my thoughts heading into Week 11.
Joique Bell – Reggie Bush – Theo Riddick
Reggie Bush has been hampered by an ankle injury since the Lions’ Week 5 loss to Buffalo. In fact, Detroit’s pass catching back has missed two games (Weeks 6 and 8) as a result of the ankle sprain. When sidelined, rookie Theo Riddick saw his role expand and his snaps increase dramatically. In fact, each of Riddick’s three touchdowns have come when Bush was either out or limited, most recently this past Sunday when he caught the game winning touchdown in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. Heading into Week 11, Bush’s status is again unclear. I’d be surprised if he plays, but even if he does he’s going to be limited, which should open things up for Riddick. Granted, the rookie is likely to have a tough go of things as the Cardinals are giving up the fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs and have yet to allow a receiving TD to a running back.
