Opportunity Knocked… and Johnny Answered
The number 13 may be unlucky for most people, but for the Chicago Bears it’s proven to be quite the shooting star.
While Johnny Knox wowed NFL talent evaluators by running a 4.34 forty-yard dash at the Combine, no one in the fantasy world expected him to put up such good numbers so quickly. Heck, his own team had doubts. In fact if a quad injury hadn’t sidelined Devin Aromashodu, Johnny would probably be running errands rather than routes.
Instead, Knox took the opportunity and used his amazing speed to run with it. In the past two weeks Knox has become one of Cutler’s favorite targets, wracking up 70 yards receiving and his first pro touchdown this past week against the Steelers. Much like my recent affection for Menchie’s, the out-of-nowhere chemistry between these two is undeniable.
As long as Cutler keeps finding his groove, Knox’s value will only grow. While I expect the Bears will eff this up by trading him away in a season or two (ahem, Bernard Berrian), I recommend fantasy owners to get in while the gettin’ is good. After all, everyone’s luck runs out eventually.
