My Money’s on Moncrief

1414026Breaking up is hard to do. When there’s a younger and more electric option waiting in the wings, however, it doesn’t seem as difficult. Reggie Wayne has undeniably been Andrew Luck’s security blanket since 2012… but that was before Donte Moncrief.

The fourteen year vet tweaked his elbow this past Sunday in the Colts’ shutout over the Bengals. While there’s no official word as to whether or not he’ll start at Heinz Field in Week 8, I’d be surprised if he was a go. Even if he were to play, I’m not sure how effective he would be considering how much difficulty he had catching the ball post-injury. This, of course, leaves the door open for the rookie Moncrief.
