Insider Report: Buffalo’s Banged Up Backfield
This past Saturday, I wrote an article outlining the Bills backfield as part of my weekly Running Back Round Up column. In the piece, I suggested owners keep an eye on Anthony Dixon as he would replace a banged up Fred Jackson were the elder of the two backs to go down. Unfortunately, that premonition came true as FJax was carted off the field and is expected to be out for at least 4 weeks with a groin injury. As if that weren’t bad enough, later in the game C.J. Spiller broke his collarbone and is likely to be done for the year.
The next two backs in line are Dixon and former Eagle Bryce Brown. According to the Bills depth chart, Dixon is ahead of Brown, but given their very different skill sets it’s not entirely clear how the RBs are going to be used moving forward. In order to shed some light on the situation and assist fantasy owners in navigating the waiver wire, I’ve enlisted the help of Scout’s very own Ryan Talbot.
According to the Buffalo Football Report publisher, Dixon will provide the most immediate production, especially against the Jets this coming Sunday. That being said…
