It could be argued that the Arizona Cardinals overachieved in 2014 due to all the injuries endured at the quarterback position. Another position under the microscope this offseason is wide receiver with an aging Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd’s underwhelming year and the young potential of John Brown.
No team better embodied the underdog spirit in 2014 than the Arizona Cardinals. Despite averaging just 19.4 points per game and closing out the regular season among the bottom 10 offenses, Arizona still managed a postseason appearance. Riddled by a litany of injuries and deficiencies, the willful Cards were swiftly eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Carolina Panthers.
Looking ahead to 2015, there are a large number of question marks surrounding the franchise and its fantasy potential. After 11 seasons in the desert, rumors of WR Larry Fitzgerald’s imminent departure seem to be sparking the most interest. According to Brad Wilbricht of Cardinal Football Talk, “The future Hall of Famer has probably played his last game in a Cardinals uniform.”
