Bears Insider Report: Ka’Deem Carey in 2015
With the 17th pick in the fourth round of the 2014 draft, the Bears selected RB Ka’Deem Carey. Praised for his physicality and lower body strength, the Arizona product was assumedly added to spell an aging Matt Forte. Beyond that, dynasty enthusiasts hoped he could develop into an every down back and eventually inherit Forte’s workhorse status.
Former head coach Marc Trestman’s pass happy offense, however, challenged those assumptions and dashed those hopes. Amassing a laughable 36 rushing attempts on the season, Carey’s freshman year was devoid of opportunity. The rookie voiced his frustration to Scout’s own Jeremy Stoltz two weeks ago saying, “I just was expecting to get used.” The 22-year-old then added, “I’m just kind of confused. We’re going to wait and see next year what the next coaching staff has for me.”
Now that a new coaching staff has been installed, it’s time to dig in and speculate on what they might have in store for the young RB…
